Here is a set of stairs and an escalator. They both go to the same place and yet given the choice, 97% of people monitored, chose the escalator when making their way up.
I don't think this is necessarily anything unusual; I've done it myself hundreds of times.
Apparently, a group of techies were less content to accept this reality than I was, so they start thinking about how to change this statistic.
In an almost "Big" scene, the public not only choose the stairs, but are almost drawn to them.
