I am thrilled to announce that I have accepted the UK Director position for The Freecycle Network. I'm really looking forward to the challenges that this will create and am excited about working with all of the folks in the UK continue to drive forward the world's largest online recycling group!
The Freecycle Network is an online environment which promotes the reuse of items rather than throwing away and them ending up in the landfill. This is done by 'gifting' your unwanted stuff to members of your own community. Everything must be free, legal and appropriate for all ages.

Great news on your new role! Sounds like a really interesting challenge.
ReplyDeleteFreecycle has had some bad press it the past for it's negative attitude towards other recycling groups which are working for the same cause as freecycle's i.e. The gifting of items to save them from landfill.
I would be very keen to hear what your thoughts are on working collaboratively with other like minded groups to promote this shared cause, or do freecycle still feel that working alone is best for the cause?
