I've started feeding my outdoor and house plants with the 'waste' water from the aquariums. You see, even though the water has to be changed, it's only because high levels of Nitrates can be toxic to fish. Nitrates of course, being great feed for plants.
"So, why waste it?", I thought. Instead of dumping it down the drain, I now take it outside and add it to my thriving plants.
It's still the intention to build the raised bed at the back of the house, and that will be fed by a fancy irrigation system which itself will be fed by the 'waste' water from the tanks.
So who's up for blueberries grown by fish poo?
If you have a fish tank, don't waste your waste; get it on your plants!
