What does the future of Google Buzz depend on?

A friend sent me a message the other day to ask if I was still 'into' Google Buzz. They felt that the usage of the social network had degraded to the point of being full of the type of inane drivel that one might normally associate with Facebook or, dare I say it, Twitter.

Full of what people are buying during their shopping trips, what the weather is like in their little corner of the virtual world and photos of their pets, feet, funny looking cracks in the pavement or worse yet, 379 photos of their recent trip to somewhere sunny.

So, Facebook has always dominated the drivel world and let's face it, it's nailed the pointless app market. Twitter has a good hold on the 'let me keep you up to speed with the latest and greatest regarding my bowl movements' idea.

So where does Buzz's future lay?

Personally, I like to think that buzz does have niche in the market that the others don't fulfill. I've always felt that it's more 'personal' than Facebook or Twitter.; perhaps that's why people are so quick to share so much?

For me, I'm a fan, I think it's truly a great product and while I am genuinely looking forward to Google Me, and although I am on Facebook (for my sins) and Twitter (I actually do like it), it's where I 'prefer' to be.

I am a self-confessed Google fan-boy, so that may play a part, but they just seem to put a little more thought into what they do; that I find both rare and appealing.

So, what does the future of Google Buzz depend on? I suspect that's up to us, isn't it?
