Today was my penultimate day at work. I don't work Wednesdays, so I shall be back in the office on Thursday and that's it, I'm gone.
I love 3rd sector, it gives one permission to be excessively smug about doing it. I would have continued, but a new opportunity has presented itself and I'm genuinely excited about it.
So, effective Friday 9th July, I will be taking on a new private sector client. Full of wonder and mystery and from the discussions and meetings I've had with them so far, it's going to be a blast. The directors of the company are excited about what benefits and advancements technology can bring to their company (always a plus for someone in my position) and have complete faith in me and my abilities (a rare but welcomed trait in a line manager).
I'll tell you a bit more about the new client once I've started, but there's going to be some very exciting stuff going on. There's a couple of different flavours to the new role that I hope you all will be interested in, from the technology changes (for the geeks amongst us) to the adoption of Feng Shui in my office (for the...what? calm and flowing amongst us?), it'll all hit here, so stay tuned.
